Semi-Sinking Grade Aloeswood
Semi-Sinking Grade, historically known as “Nong Shui Xiang” (water-playing incense) or “Jian Xiang” (decocted incense), is a medium-grade aloeswood that partially floats and partially sinks in water. The character “Zhan” vividly depicts its suspended state in water. It contains a moderate amount of resin—less dense than Sinking Grade—but its fragrance is clear, lingering, and multi-layered. Offering relatively good value for money, it is often favored by seasoned incense connoisseurs. In classical classifications, it stands between Sinking Grade and Floating Grade, possessing a certain degree of resin formation while retaining part of its wooden structure. It is suitable for daily incense appreciation, making prayer beads, or blending into compound incenses.
